Guest Bloggers

HELLO WMU!

What beautiful weather we've been having! The leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and the WSA is more productive then ever!

This has been a busy week for the cabinet as well as the senators. Between the Western Wednesdays, the Open Forum, and the United Way work the WSA has been kept on their toes!

Today was Western Wednesday Voter Awareness Edition! WSA Cabinet Members Kris Banks and Lauren Hearit were at the flagpoles this afternoon to encourage Broncos to vote and if you showed your voter registration card you got a FREE T-SHIRT! Also they handed out "non-partisan" voter guides as well as buttons and other WMU gear! Make sure to register to vote!

Tonight was also the Open Forum with Dr. Diane Anderson! Unfortunately I had a midterm at 6pm so I couldn't make it! Which brings me to my next point,

I will start inviting other Cabinet Members and Senators to "Guest Blog" about their experiences. It will make this blog more interesting for YOU readers as well as give you a break from my terrible humor.

So my first "Guest Blogger" will be Erin Kaplan. (SUPRISE haha she doesn't know yet!) because she helped organize the Anderson Forum and I wanna hear all about it! So Erin should be blogging sometime soon so STAY TUNED!

The official release date for the "YouWMU Video Blog" is November 1st. So get excited YOU may be featured in it :)

The WSA is also partnering with The United Way campaign. (Sidenote: has anyone seen the United Way billboard of WSA President Aaron Booth on Stadium Drive hehe) The WSA will be hosting two Western Wednesdays on October 27th and November2rd at the flagpoles. They will be selling UW t-shirts that have been seen EVERYWHERE! They say "Live United" on the front. All proceeds will go to the United Way of Kalamazoo. It's a great way to help out our community.

We are also preparing a "Candidate Meet-and-Greet" featuring candidates running in Kalamazoo for Michigan representative and senator positions! The event will take place on October 27 at 5:30 in room 157 of the Bernhard Center. It's a great way to rub shoulders with important politicians and get personal with em! So I will recruit Lauren Hearit (Political Affairs Chair) to "Guest Blog" before/after the event!

Bear with me Broncos, I'm in the middle of midterms/graduation audits/resumes/coverletters/networking! So if this post isn't up to your expectations I apologize! My humor ended at the library vending machine with my last 75 cents and my Doritos getting stuck :(

PS. here's the official logo for our brand spanking new video logo!
