Dr. Diane Anderson comes to WSA!

Hey Broncos!

This is Erin Kaplan, WSA Student Affairs chair. It's no secret that I want to go into Student Affairs, so it's really cool that I have the opportunity to hold the position of Student Affairs Chair in the WSA. It's also no secret that I want to be WMU's Vice President of Student Affairs, so thats why it's awesome that I get to work with Dr. Diane Anderson, aka my role model. Soooo, it was especially cool that we had an open forum with Dr. Anderson this Wednesday.

Dr. Anderson was funny and honest and answered dozens of questions. We talked about residence halls, cafeterias, East Campus, campus safety, Greek life, and more. Dr. Anderson received four different variations of the question "Do you support a campus-wide ban on plastic water bottles". Upon answering, she lifted her plastic dasini water bottle in the air and everyone laughed. She said she supports Ecomugs but knows that sometimes, people are in a hurry (like her), and just need to grab whats there--which is sometimes a plastic water bottle.

She kept everyone's attention the whole time and everyone loved it. Over 30 students were in attendance! The "mystery brown food" ended up being falafal which everyyyyone loved :)

Hopefully we can do another forum with Dr. Anderson this spring! Thank you to everyone who attended!

It's a GREAT day to be a Bronco,
Erin Kaplan
WSA Student Affairs Chair
